Robert E Lee Park Nature CouncilBeginning in the Fall of 2009, the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks sponsored a series of meetings with area residents, businesses, and other interested parties to provide suggestions about the operation of the historic Robert E Lee Park. This eventually led to the formation of the Nature Council. The Robert E Lee Nature Council is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship of Robert E Lee Park for recreation and educational programs. The Council works in cooperation with Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks and other entities to maintain, preserve, and protect the natural environment and historic structures in the Park, providing a legacy for future generations. Its volunteers have organized committees to develop membership, prepare trail maps, establish a website, and prepare other informational and promotional materials. These meetings are open to the public. The Board meets on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30pm in Hearing Room 1 on the first floor of the Jefferson Building, 105 West Chesapeake Avenue, Towson, MD 21204. All are welcome. |
