Explore Predators in Peril through neighbor Bill Band’s engaging presentation on his experiences as an open water photographer of sharks.
Association member, Bill Band, is a retired Bay Pilot, who has been scuba diving for more than 50 years. Over the past 8 years, he has been seeking out opportunities to dive with large marine animals, focusing primarily on sharks. Almost all his encounters are in open water without the use of a cage.

Approximately 100 million sharks a year are killed by fishermen, primarily for their fins. Such slaughter is not sustainable to shark populations, which are extremely important to the health of the ocean ecosystems.
Through his photographs and personal experiences, Bill educates people on these wonderful and often misunderstood animals.
